Quicknode Technologies Limited Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This unified Privacy Policy describes how Quicknode Technologies Limited and its affiliated subsidiaries may collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information. It applies to all services we provide, including banking services, cross-border payments, treasury management, and related financial services offered through our websites, mobile applications, APIs, and other online platforms (collectively, the "Services" or "Sites"). This policy is global in scope: while Quicknode Technlogies' operations are primarily based in Africa, we also serve users in the European Union (EU) and the United States. We therefore adhere to applicable data protection laws in all jurisdictions where we operate, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), Nigeria’s Data Protection Regulation, Kenya’s Data Protection Act, and other relevant national laws, as applicable. This Privacy Policy applies regardless of the means you use to access our Services (web or mobile). Capitalized terms used but not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meanings given to them in our User Agreement.

2. Types of Data We Collect

We collect and process various categories of Personal Data in order to provide and improve our Services. The types of information we collect include:

Information You Provide to Us: This includes any information you directly share when using our Services or communicating with us, such as:
- Identity and Contact Information: e.g. your name, date of birth, user ID or username, email address, postal address, phone number, and any contact lists you choose to import.
- Financial and Account Information: e.g. bank account details, payment card numbers, financial account information, transaction history, account balances, payment details, billing information, tax identification numbers, and credit or financial profile information.
- Identity Verification Data: e.g. government-issued identification documents (passports, driver’s licenses, national ID cards), social security or tax IDs, utility bills, selfies or photographs for identity verification, and any other information required to verify your identity and comply with Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws.
- Authentication Information: e.g. passwords, PINs, security questions/answers, and any biometric identifiers (such as fingerprint or facial recognition data) that you use for authentication.
- Profile and Preferences: e.g. information in your user profile (such as your display name or avatar), your communication preferences, account settings, and responses to any surveys or questionnaires you choose to complete.
- Communications: e.g. the content of your communications with us, including emails, customer support requests, feedback, and dispute resolution correspondence.
- Transactional Information: e.g. details about payments or transfers you make or receive via our Services, such as the amount, date and time, recipient information, currency, and any descriptions or metadata associated with each transaction.
- Marketing Information: e.g. your preferences for receiving marketing or promotional communications, and information about your engagement with our marketing communications (like whether you opened an email).

Information We Collect from Third Parties: We may receive information about you from business partners and other external sources, including:
-  Partner Financial Institutions & Payment Processors: For example, if you interact with Quicknode through a bank or payment partner, they might provide us with information about you or your transactions (such as to facilitate linking your bank account or to process a payment).
- Credit Bureaus & Identity Verification Services: These services may provide us with background information to confirm your identity or assess your creditworthiness as part of fraud prevention or compliance checks.
- Public Databases & Government Registers: We might obtain information from public records (for instance, to verify a business entity or check sanctions lists) and from governmental or regulatory sources for compliance purposes.
- Marketing and Analytics Providers: We could receive demographic or interest information about users from third-party analytics firms or advertising partners to better tailor our services or marketing.
- Other Users of our Service: If another user uploads or inputs information about you (for example, by sending you a payment or naming you as a beneficiary or contact), we may collect whatever information they provide about you as part of that transaction.

Information Automatically Collected: When you access our Sites or use our apps, we (and our service providers or business partners) automatically collect certain technical and usage data through cookies, pixels, and similar tracking technologies. This data includes:
- Device and Connection Information: Details about the device you use, such as the type of device, operating system and version, hardware model, unique device identifiers, browser type and version, screen resolution, and Internet Protocol (IP) address.
- Geolocation Data: General location information inferred from your IP address or GPS (with permission), such as city, state, or country. This helps us customize content to your region and detect potential fraud.
- Usage and Browsing Information: How you interact with our Sites and Services – e.g. which pages or screens you view, the dates/times of access, the amount of time spent on pages, navigation paths between pages, and your referrer URL (the page you came from).
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: We use cookies and similar tracking tools to remember your preferences and recognize you when you return. These technologies collect data about your browsing activities on our Sites (and possibly other sites) over time, which we use for analytics and advertising purposes. (See Section 3. Cookies and Similar Technologies below for more details.)App and Performance Data: If the app encounters an error or crash, we may collect a crash report and information about the state of the app, device settings, or other diagnostic data to help debug the issue. We also gather performance metrics (like API response times or usage of features) to understand how well the Services are functioning.Telemetry and Analytics Data: This includes data on feature usage and interaction patterns (for example, which buttons or links are clicked) that help us understand user engagement and improve our user interface.

Information from Social Media and Third-Party Logins: If you choose to engage with Quicknode Technologies' Tools on social media (for example, by visiting our official pages on platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, or Facebook) or use a third-party login (like “Sign in with Google” or similar single sign-on) to access your Quicknode account, we may receive certain information from those third parties. This can include your profile information (such as name, email, or profile picture) and any connections or content you make public on those platforms. The data we receive is governed by the third party’s privacy settings and policies – we only collect what you allow those platforms to share with us. Note that when you interact with our official pages on social networks, the processing of your data is also governed by the privacy policy of the respective platform.Sensitive Personal Information: We generally do not intend to collect sensitive personal data such as information about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, political opinions, union memberships, genetic or biometric data for identification (except as part of optional authentication features), health information, or information about your sex life or sexual orientation. We ask that you not send or upload sensitive personal information to our Services unless it is absolutely necessary for using a specific Quicknode service and we have requested it (for example, a government ID which might reveal ethnicity or biometric data for KYC verification). In the limited cases where you do provide or we request sensitive data (e.g. for compliance with law), by providing that information you are consenting to our processing of it for the purposes described at the time. If you do not consent, please refrain from submitting such sensitive information.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

What Are Cookies? Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They allow the website to recognize your device and store certain information about your preferences or past actions. We use cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons, pixels, and device identifiers) to provide, personalize, and improve our Services.

How We Use Cookies: Our Sites use both session cookies (which expire when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain on your device until you delete them or they expire after a set period). Cookies help us in several ways, for example by allowing us to: keep you logged into your account as you navigate through secure areas; remember your site preferences (like language or region); and collect information about how users interact with our Services so we can enhance user experience. We use both first-party cookies (set by Quicknode Technologies) and third-party cookies (set by service providers or partners) for analytics and advertising. Some cookies are essential for the operation of the Services (for example, to enable security features or authenticate your session), while others are optional and help us personalize content or track aggregate usage statistics.

Your Choices for Cookies: When you first visit our Sites, you will be presented with a notice about our use of cookies and given the option to manage your cookie preferences. You can choose to accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or customize your choices. Additionally, most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings (e.g. to block cookies or alert you when cookies are being used). However, please note that if you disable certain categories of cookies, some parts of our Services might not function optimally. For more detailed information on the cookies and tracking technologies we use, and to update your preferences, please see our Cookies Notice (if available on our website) or contact us at hello@quicknodetech.com.

4. How We Use Your Personal Data

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes (or as otherwise described to you at the point of collection):

To Provide Our Services: We process personal data as necessary to operate and administer the Services and to fulfill our contractual obligations to you. This includes using personal information to:
- Create, maintain, and service your accounts on our platform.
- Verify your identity and eligibility for particular services (for example, confirming your identity during sign-up or when linking a bank account).
- Facilitate and process transactions you request, such as payments, money transfers, and currency exchanges – including to send or receive funds, and to communicate with relevant financial intermediaries (banks, card networks, payment processors) to complete these transactions.
- Provide customer support and respond to your inquiries, questions, and requests (for example, if you contact us with a question about a transaction or need help with your account).
- Communicate with you about your account and the Services – this includes sending administrative or account-related messages such as confirmations of transactions, receipts, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support messages.
- Enable features that personalize your experience, such as saving your preferences, providing customized account dashboards, and recommending certain features or content based on your usage.
- Perform risk assessments and fraud monitoring: We use personal and transactional data to detect suspicious or unauthorized activities, to verify that transactions are legitimate, and to mitigate fraud, money laundering, or other financial crimes. This may involve automated analysis of your activity (see Automated Decision Making below).
- Ensure we comply with legal obligations specifically relevant to financial services, such as KYC/AML regulations and sanctions screening (e.g. checking your data against government sanctions lists and performing required due diligence checks).
- Fulfill any other purpose for which you provide the information, and carry out any other business or commercial activities that are within the scope of the Services.

To Improve and Develop Our Services: We continually strive to make our products better. We use personal information for our legitimate interests in improving our existing services and developing new ones. For example, we analyze usage data and feedback to:
- Debug and troubleshoot technical issues (using data like error logs and crash reports to identify and fix problems).
- Perform research and analytics on how users interact with our Services, to understand what is working well and what could be improved.
- Develop new features, products, or services that enhance our offerings or respond to user needs.
- Test and evaluate potential new products or features (often using aggregated or anonymized data where possible).
- Conduct customer surveys or research studies (participation is always optional) to gain insights into user satisfaction and preferences.

To Communicate With You: If you sign up to receive newsletters or marketing communications, or if you have an account with us, we may use your contact information to send you promotional materials about Quicknode products or services, as permitted by law. For example, we might send email newsletters about new features, special offers, or events. You will always have the ability to opt out of marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in those messages or adjusting your account preferences. (See Your Choices and Rights below for more on opting out.) Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still send you important service-related communications (e.g. account notifications, password reset emails, security alerts) as these are necessary for us to provide the Services.

For Legal Compliance, Fraud Prevention, and Safety: We may process personal information as we believe in good faith is necessary or appropriate to comply with applicable laws and regulations, and to ensure the integrity and security of our platform. This includes:
- Compliance with Laws and Regulations: Using and retaining data as needed to meet requirements under financial laws (such as anti-money laundering rules, tax laws, and mandatory record-keeping laws) and to respond to lawful requests by public authorities (like responding to subpoenas or government inquiries).
- Enforcing Our Terms and Policies: We use data to monitor for and investigate potential violations of our User Agreement, Acceptable Use Policy, or other terms, and to enforce those terms.
- Protecting Rights and Preventing Harm: We may use data to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, or those of other persons. For instance, we might process data to detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or security breaches. If we suspect illegal activity (such as fraud or hacking attempts), we may investigate and potentially report the issue to appropriate authorities.
- Risk Management: We conduct internal risk controls such as creditworthiness assessments (for services that involve credit or deferred payments), fraud risk scoring, and account security checks. This can involve automated processing of your data to flag high-risk accounts or behaviors.
- Legal Claims: In the event of legal disputes, we may process and preserve data as necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

With Your Consent: In cases where we are required by law to obtain your consent before processing certain personal data (for example, for sending marketing text messages or using precise geolocation data for purposes beyond service provision), we will do so. Whenever we rely on your consent as the legal basis for processing, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. For instance, if you consent to receive marketing communications from our third-party partner companies, you can revoke that consent by contacting those third parties or adjusting your preferences with them. If you withdraw consent for a processing activity that is optional, we will stop the processing in question once we have received and processed your request (but note that this will not affect any processing already done before your withdrawal).

For General Business and Administrative Purposes: We may use personal information for legitimate interests related to the general running of our business. This includes uses such as:
- Analyzing and improving our internal operations and the efficiency of our business processes.
- Aggregating and anonymizing personal data to generate statistical insights and business intelligence (for example, to understand overall payment volume growth or user demographics, in a way that no longer identifies individual users). Once data is aggregated/anonymized so it can no longer be linked to any person, it is no longer considered “Personal Data” and we may use it for any purpose without further notice.
- Training our staff, including customer support and compliance teams, using real (or simulated) data to ensure our personnel can effectively assist users and handle data properly.
- Maintaining accounting, auditing, and other record-keeping requirements for corporate governance and financial reporting.
- Planning and forecasting business activities, such as creating budgets, financial projections, and product roadmaps.

For Personalization and Advertising: Where permitted by law and/or with your opt-in consent (depending on your jurisdiction), we may use your data to personalize your experience and to provide targeted advertising. For example:
- We may tailor the content you see on our Sites or apps, such as showing you features or articles that we think may interest you based on your usage history.
- We might provide recommendations or insights (for instance, suggesting certain Quicknode services or third-party integrations that could be relevant to your use case).
- We partner with third-party advertising networks and social media platforms to deliver ads about Quicknode on other websites or apps. These partners may use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across websites, in order to show you ads that are more relevant to your interests. (See Targeted Online Advertising under Your Choices below for how you can opt out of certain targeted ads.)
- We measure the effectiveness of our marketing campaigns by analyzing metrics like email open rates, click-through rates on our ads, and conversions (e.g. how many people who saw an ad ended up signing up). This helps us refine our marketing strategies.

5. How We Share Your Personal Data

We do not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration. However, we may share your personal data with third parties in certain circumstances, as outlined below, in accordance with applicable law:

Service Providers and Vendors: We share data with trusted third-party companies that perform services on our behalf and under our instructions (known as “processors” under some laws). These include:
- Payment processors and banking partners: to facilitate transactions (for example, processing a credit card payment or a bank transfer).
- Cloud hosting and storage providers: to securely store data or for cloud computing needs.
- Identity verification and fraud prevention services: to help us verify identity documents, screen against watchlists, and detect suspicious activity.
- Analytics providers: to analyze usage data and improve our Services (for instance, Google Analytics may collect site usage data – though we generally use such tools with IP anonymization where possible).
- Customer support tools: platforms we use to manage customer inquiries, chat support, or support ticketing.
- Marketing and email delivery services: to send promotional or transactional emails and SMS messages on our behalf.
- Professional advisors and consultants: including lawyers, auditors, accountants, and security consultants who need access to data to provide their services to us (subject to confidentiality obligations).
These service providers are contractually bound to protect your information and use it only for the specific purposes we define, consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Quicknode Corporate Affiliates: We may share personal information with other companies under common ownership or control with Quicknode (for example, any current or future parent company, subsidiaries, joint ventures, or other companies we control). Any such sharing will be for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy (for instance, an affiliate may provide elements of the Services or help with technical infrastructure). All Quicknode affiliates are required to maintain the privacy and security of personal data in accordance with our policies.

Business Transfers: If Quicknode is involved in a potential or actual merger, acquisition, investor financing, corporate reorganization, insolvency, bankruptcy, or sale of business assets, personal information may be disclosed to or transferred to the acquiring or successor entity as part of the transaction. We would do this in accordance with applicable laws, and we would require any new entity holding your data to continue to honor the commitments in this Privacy Policy (unless you’re notified otherwise). For example, if another company were to acquire HoneyCoin, user information would likely be one of the assets transferred, but the data would remain subject to the promises made in the then-current Privacy Policy.

Third Parties You Authorize or Direct: We will share your information with third parties if and when you explicitly direct us to do so. For instance, if our Services allow you to initiate a payment or transfer to another person or business, we will share necessary information with that recipient and any intermediary institutions (much like a bank would) to fulfill the request. Similarly, if you use a feature to integrate or share data with a third-party platform (for example, exporting transactions to an accounting service, or using an API to connect your Quicknode account with another app), we will share data at your direction and with your consent.

Payment Networks and Financial Partners: As a financial services provider, we often work with other companies to execute the services you request. We may share necessary information with:
- Card networks (like Visa or MasterCard) and payment networks involved in processing card payments or fund transfers.
- Partner banks or banking institutions that hold funds or facilitate disbursements (for example, if we issue you a stored-value account or use a bank to clear transactions, we share relevant personal and transaction data with that bank).
- Currency exchanges or liquidity providers if you are exchanging currencies or cryptocurrencies through our Services.
- Other financial institutions or fintech partners when required to complete the service (e.g. when you initiate a cross-border transfer, banks or payment companies in the destination country might receive some of your personal and transaction details).
These partners may have their own privacy obligations and may be directly responsible to you for their use of your data. We encourage you to review the privacy notices of any such third-party financial services you interact with (for example, if you link a third-party service to Quicknode).

Legal and Regulatory Disclosures: We may disclose personal information outside of our company if we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request (such as a court order, subpoena, or regulatory inquiry). For example, financial regulations may require us to report certain high-value or suspicious transactions to regulators.
- Cooperate with regulators and law enforcement, including to meet national security or law enforcement requirements. If a law enforcement authority validly requests data (for instance, as part of an investigation), we may provide the requested information as required by law.
- Enforce or apply our User Agreement or other agreements, and to investigate potential breaches of these agreements.
- Protect the rights, property, or safety of Quicknode, our users, or others. This could include exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection, spam/malware prevention, or similar purposes.
- Note: When we receive requests for user data from law enforcement or regulators, we carefully review each request to ensure it has a valid legal basis. If required by law, we may notify the affected user before disclosing their information.

Marketing and Advertising Partners: With your consent (where required by law), we might allow certain third-party marketing or advertising partners to collect information about you via cookies or similar technologies on our Sites to serve interest-based ads. We may also share your contact information in a hashed, encrypted format with social media or advertising platforms to assist us in reaching you with advertisements on those platforms (for example, using Facebook Custom Audiences or Google Customer Match). These third parties will use your information for their own advertising purposes only with your consent or as permitted by law, and you can opt-out as described in Your Choices below.

Other Users and Public Posts: If you use a feature of our Services that is designed to be social or public (for example, posting content on a community forum, creating a public profile, or sending messages to other users within our platform), information you voluntarily share could be visible to others on the platform or even publicly on the internet, depending on the settings. Always use caution when sharing information in these contexts. Quicknode is not responsible for how others might use information you have made public or available to a limited group via the Services.

6. Your Choices and Rights

You have various choices regarding your personal information and, depending on your jurisdiction, you may have legal rights with respect to your data. We strive to provide all users with transparency and control over their information.

Accessing and Updating Account Information: If you have a HoneyCoin account, you can access, review, and update much of your personal data directly by logging into your account and visiting the account settings or profile section. For example, you can update your contact information, change your payment method details, or modify your preferences. If any personal information we hold about you is inaccurate or outdated, please correct it in your account or notify us so we can correct it.

General Data Subject Rights: Depending on where you reside (for instance, if you are in the EU, UK, Nigeria, Kenya, or other regions with data protection laws), you may have the following rights regarding your personal information, subject to certain conditions and exemptions:
- Right to Access: You can request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, as well as information explaining how your data is used. This is sometimes called a “Data Subject Access Request.”
- Right to Rectification: If you believe that any of your personal data is incorrect or incomplete, you can request that we correct or update it.
- Right to Deletion: You can ask us to delete your personal information (the “right to be forgotten”) in certain circumstances – for example, if the data is no longer necessary for the purposes it was collected, or if you withdraw consent and no other legal basis for processing applies. We will honor deletion requests to the extent required by law. Please note that we may retain some information as necessary to comply with legal obligations (see Data Retention above).
- Right to Restrict Processing: You can request that we limit the processing of your personal information in certain situations – such as while we are verifying the accuracy of your data or handling an objection you have raised to our processing.
- Right to Data Portability: You have the right to obtain your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, and to have that data transmitted to another data controller, where technically feasible. This right applies when the processing is automated and based on your consent or on a contract you have with us.
- Right to Object: You can object to our processing of your personal information where we are relying on a legitimate interest (or those of a third party) and you have a particular situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground. You also have the right to object at any time to processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes, which includes profiling related to direct marketing. If you lodge an objection, we will stop processing the personal information unless we have compelling legitimate grounds to continue that override your interests, rights, and freedoms (or if needed for legal claims).
- Right to Withdraw Consent: If we rely on your consent to process any personal data, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, and it will not affect processing of your personal data under other lawful bases (for example, processing necessary for performing a contract or complying with law).

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in the Contact Us section in the main page. We may need to verify your identity (for example, by asking you to provide information or log in to your account) before fulfilling your request, to ensure that your data is protected against unauthorized access. We will respond to your request within the timeframe required by applicable law (for instance, within one month under GDPR, which can be extended in certain cases). If we are unable to honor your request (due to a legal exception, or if fulfilling the request would adversely affect the rights of others, etc.), we will inform you of the reasons in our response.

Marketing Communications: You have control over how you receive marketing from us:
- If you no longer wish to receive marketing emails or newsletters, you can opt out at any time by clicking the “Unsubscribe” link in any marketing email, or by adjusting your communication preferences in your account settings (if available), or by contacting us at hello@quicknodetech.com.
- Please note that even if you opt out of marketing messages, we will still send you transactional or service-related messages as needed. For example, we may send password reset emails, security alerts, or notifications about important updates to our Services or this Privacy Policy. These are not marketing communications, but rather essential communications for service and security purposes.

Targeted Online Advertising (Opt-Out): As discussed above, we or third parties on our Sites may engage in interest-based advertising using information gathered via cookies and similar tools about your browsing across different sites. If you prefer not to receive targeted ads based on your online behavior, you have several options:
- Industry Opt-Out Sites: You can visit the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out page at www.networkadvertising.org/choices or the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out page at www.aboutads.info/choices to opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies. If you are in Europe, you can visit the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance’s site at www.youronlinechoices.eu and select your country to get more info on opting out.
- Device/Browser Settings: Modern web browsers often have settings or extensions that allow you to block or limit cookies and trackers. Mobile devices (iOS and Android) also have settings to limit ad tracking (such as resetting your mobile advertising ID or enabling “Limit Ad Tracking”). Using these settings can reduce the personalization of ads you see.
- Do Not Track Signals: Some browsers send “Do-Not-Track” (DNT) signals. Our Sites do not currently respond to DNT signals due to lack of a common industry standard on how to interpret them. We will treat DNT signals as a preference, but you should separately use the opt-out methods described above for a more effective choice regarding targeted ads.

Keep in mind that even after opting out of targeted advertising, you may still see general ads (that are not tailored to you) when using online services.

Choosing Not to Share Data: You always have the choice not to provide certain information. However, some personal data is necessary for us to provide the Services. If you decline to provide required information (for example, identity verification details needed to open an account or process a transaction), or if you later request that we delete it, we might not be able to offer you some or all features of the Services. We will notify you at the point of collection if specific data is mandatory (e.g., by indicating required form fields). If you have any questions about what data is necessary, please contact our support team.

State-Specific Privacy Rights:
- California Residents:
If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA. These include: (1) the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you (and the categories of sources, purposes, and any third parties we disclosed it to); (2) the right to request deletion of your personal information (with some exceptions, such as if the information is needed to complete a transaction or comply with legal obligations); (3) the right to correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you; (4) the right to opt-out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information; (5) the right to limit the use or disclosure of your sensitive personal information; and (6) the right to non-discrimination (meaning we will not deny you goods or services or provide a different level of service for exercising your rights, except as permitted by law). To exercise any of these California rights, you (or your authorized agent) can contact us at privacy@honeycoin.app or through the methods described in Contact Us. We may need to verify your identity and residency before fulfilling requests. For more details specific to California (such as the categories of personal information collected/disclosed), please see our “California Privacy Notice” section or supplemental document, if provided. (Note: As stated above, HoneyCoin does not sell personal information, so the opt-out of sale request is provided for completeness. If in the future we ever engaged in “selling” personal data as defined by CCPA, we would update our practices accordingly.)
-
Other U.S. States: Several other U.S. states (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, among others) have passed their own privacy laws that grant residents certain rights over their data. If you are a resident of one of these states, you may have rights similar to those of California residents, including the right to confirm if we process your data, to access and correct your data, to delete data, to opt out of certain data uses (like targeted advertising or sales of data), and to appeal decisions we make regarding your privacy requests. We will honor the rights of state residents in accordance with applicable state laws. To exercise these rights, please contact us as described in Contact Us.
- African Privacy Laws (e.g. Nigeria, Kenya): If you reside in a country in Africa with data protection laws such as Nigeria or Kenya, you are entitled to similar protections. For example, Nigeria’s data protection regulations grant data subjects the rights to be informed about data collection and processing, to access personal data held about them, to request correction or deletion of inaccurate or excessive data, to withdraw consent, and to object to certain forms of processing. Kenya’s Data Protection Act similarly provides rights of access, rectification, erasure, and objection, closely mirroring the EU GDPR. We are committed to respecting these rights. If you are in Nigeria, Kenya, or another African jurisdiction with privacy laws, you may contact us to exercise any applicable rights (access, correction, deletion, etc.), and we will respond as required. Additionally, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national Data Protection Authority (for instance, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) or the Kenya Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC)) if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully. We welcome the opportunity to address your concerns directly and encourage you to reach out to us first so we can assist you.

Automated Decision-Making: HoneyCoin may use automated algorithms to make decisions affecting your account (for example, fraud detection systems might automatically block a transaction, or credit scoring algorithms might assess eligibility for certain financial services). You have the right to request human review of certain significant decisions made solely by automated means. Specifically, if a decision is made about you that is both fully automated (i.e. no human intervention) and has a legal or similarly significant effect on you, you may ask for an explanation of the decision and for a person to review the outcome (where required by law). We will provide safeguards to protect your rights and interests, including the option to contest the decision, as appropriate. See Additional Considerations – Automated Decision Making below for more information on how we use these technologies.
